Katie and Chad are getting married on Cape Cod over Labor Day weekend. I have a feeling their wedding is going to be a blast!
Katie's no stranger to my camera, since she's been in front of it for Brianne + Pete and Julie + Sean's weddings. I love when bridesmaids I photograph come back as brides-to-be.
We took a stroll around downtown Nantucket yesterday for their Engagement Session. It was a BEAUTIFUL summery day. I just love this time of year.
Just found this gem while doing another edit. I love that with a long lens you can see the windows on the Great Point Lighthouse, but with the naked eye from Steps Beach, it's barely a sliver of a white matchstick in the distance.
Just a few images from the race today, as seen from Steps Beach. It was crazy windy today, but I'm sure the sailors and kite surfers were not complaining.
Michele and Mark were married during a small Nantucket beach style ceremony at Brant Point, with a reception following at The White Elephant. They chose a 10x10, two-toned Silk and Leather StoryBook Album to remember their wedding day by.
I just love the feel of these silk albums and the colors they chose are so warm.
My favorite part about designing the StoryBook Albums is using BIG images spread across two pages, and not worrying about losing anything in the gutter.
Exhaustion after a long trek and a day in warm ocean water, no batteries, a couple scary security officers and the threat of a monsoon simply didn't scare us out of an impromptu quickie photo session. Improv, it's all about improv.
Words are escaping me right now. I can't believe it's just been a week since Beth and Jimi's wedding in Costa Rica.
The wedding was a very colorful affair with wonderful friends, great food, good luck rain and a very happy and beautiful couple. I'm so fortunate to have been a part of this wonderful wedding week. Seeing a new country, experiencing new adventures, making new friends and reconnecting with old friends, that's what it's all about.
I have so much to say about my Costa Rica trip. Where to start!?
First of all, it was a trip for Beth and Jimi's wedding on May 7th. I've known Beth for about 9 years. I love her to death. We worked and lived together in Killington, VT years ago. She was my travel and dance partner in crime for many years. I love the girl. I equally love Jimi whom I also knew in Killington and who is a fantastic guy. They moved to Santa Barbara right after I moved to CA about 4 years ago, but we didn't see each other very often, unfortunately. I miss them so much. Luckily, they come to Martha's Vineyard every year, and I get to visit!
About 50 of Beth and Jimi's nearest and dearest came out to the surfing town of Dominical, Costa Rica for their wedding and festivities. To my surprise, the owner of the compound we stayed in also lives in Nantucket. Tiny world.
I got there on Tuesday, just in time for Cinco de Mayo. Wednesday was horseback riding day to the Nauyaca Waterfalls and the mountain biking trek. My horse's name was Frijolito and he was one feisty little guy. Let's just say you didn't want to be behind us. Thursday was the wedding day. We had beautiful weather, but of course it had to rain during the ceremony, for good luck! Friday (my birthday) was zip lining through the forest at the Hacienda Baru. Amazing. Saturday was a day at Manuel Antonio Park with sloths, lizards and monkeys and the warmest ocean water I've ever been in.
I got to reconnect with old friends that I haven't seen in ages, and make new friends from all across the US. I'm so excited to see a lot of them again in VT for the wedding celebration in June.
These are just some faves from the trip, the wedding wrap up is coming soon!
I was very excited when my good friends Beth and Jimi got engaged, but when they told me they were getting married in Costa Rica and wanted me along to photograph the week, I was elated. The trip was fantastic, I can't even wrap my head around it yet. I'll have lots of photos to post in the next couple days.
Thanks for an amazing time guys, I love you to pieces!
I'll be out of town from the 2nd-13th. I will not be checking my email until I return. Any photo emergencies should take their concerns to the ER. ;)
I'm getting all caught up on the PhotoBlog so that I can leave this weekend with a clear head. Any clients that have outstanding album design approvals, print orders to put in, inquiries, etc, please get them to me asap. I'll be sunning it up in Costa Rica next week for Beth and Jimi's wedding! Can't wait to share the images from their wedding. I KNOW it's going to be a beautiful event.
PS, If you just received 18 million away messages from me, I blame technology and apologize. Oops.
